South West London (Fulham, Chelsea, Kensington, Richmond)

Welcome to where the well-heeled of London dwell! Think Price William’s girlfriend Kate Middleton and pop sensation Kylie Minogue. 'Sloaneys' in neighborhoods like Kensington and Chelsea amble down King’s Road and retire to luxurious residences. However, there’s a substantial population of young professionals who choose to live in a Kensington flatshare, a Putney flatshare, a Fulham flatshare or, all little further down the Thames, a Richmond flatshare.

The local population hits Kings Road and Sloane Street for shopping and entertainment. Strolling down these thoroughfares, you will encounter names like Gucci, Ralph Lauren and Graff as well as plenty of high street names.

One of Kensington’s wonders is little known attraction that only locals know about. Try eating at the Kensington Roof Gardens, which stretch for one and a half acres. You’ll find Tudor, Spanish and Woodland sections and a spectacular view of London from 100 feet above Kensington High Street!

If you haven’t gotten your fill of breathtaking greenery, head to the wondrous Royal Botanical Gardens in Richmond, also known as Kew Gardens.

If you’re considering a Chelsea flatshare, one of the first things you’ll be made aware of is the famous Chelsea Football Club; mention its name and you are sure to draw very strong reactions from any football fan!

South West London has a history as an area of cutting edge culture. Members of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones lived on King’s Road, which was also the site of Vivienne Westwood’s legendary shop SEX, reflecting the early Punk Movement.
