North East London (Walthamstow, Leyton, Wood Green)
If you’re interested in a North London flatshare, consider living in a flatshare house in North East London. It’s a great place to live and has excellent transport links to the centre of London for commuters. A range of flats and houses make up this very multicultural area.
Wood Green stands as a major metropolitan district and is astoundingly diverse; some estimate that 200 languages are spoken here! It is also home to Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Like so much of London, the North East is undergoing transformation and as a result, many young professionals are attracted to the area.
Walthamstow Village is a pleasant and quiet residential district that boasts Edwardian and terraced houses from the 1920’s.
Leyton sits one mile east of the future 2012 Olympic Park. It is also one of the most multicultural parts of London. A number of the area’s council estates like Beaumont Road are being redeveloped and redone in order to revamp the area’s image and property values.
Walthamstow's High Street is dominated by the street market, which began in 1885, and claims to be Europe's longest at 1km. The Walthamstow EMD Cinema on Hoe Street was designed by Cecil Masey. Wood Green and Leyton each have Cinemas as well. Check out some of the traditional Indian Markets in Wood Green for cheap and fresh authentic Indian foods. For an excellent kebab, this area is also your best bet!
If you love to learn from other cultures, all you need to do is step outside of your north East London flatshare to soak up the cosmopolitan atmosphere.
